Recommended to me by one of my daughters, This little gem is pleasant in the feel of what they have going here.  It’s hard to say if its a place for everyone but its enough to say that its worth finding out.

They play music from just about any genre you can imagine and have the talent on the decks to do so. I stopped in a twice over the last 2 weeks and took a peek around to see what the place was really all about.  It didn’t have a huge crowd in the middle of the dance floor but the crowd was holding  conversation.  It almost seemed like I was interrupting til I was greeted and then magically everyone tried to include me into the middle of the conversation.  At that point i was just having a look see and didn’t pay a whole lot of attention to what the conversation was but kept quiet just the same.  I was interested on what was going with the music and the DJ whom was playing some club style hip hop mixes that it the groove and made you just want to move your body with the bass.

After a moment or two of standing there watching the interactions of the pixel people, it started to sink in.  It had that “just got home” kinda vibe to the joint.  Decor is like you made a stage in dad’s garage and created a haven of sorts inside.  Not to be sexist in any way but reminded me of walking into a garage that was a man cave and dedicated to music.  Just wanted to throw my jacket on something put the headphones on and get lost in whatever could be mixed up.

Staff of course suited the place friendly of all sorts.  Fellow club goers were the same. Inviting and wanting to chill with you and strike up a convo.  That im sure is what people want when they walk in.  Cant imagine anyone wanting that feeling of being left out.

I got a chance to Catch up with Dusti and we had a nice conversation about The Rhythm Factory and what it was all about.

-Bᴇᴎᴊɨ Яᴧɢᴇ- (baels.rage): Ok so How long have you had Rhythm Factory open?

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): That’s a complicated queston. I opened two years ago, but have had a couple of hiatus

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): two years ago in May

-Bᴇᴎᴊɨ Яᴧɢᴇ- (baels.rage): I think everyone takes a few of those on SL. I know i have.

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): yeah, things happen

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): I hope that it doesn’t happen again though

-Bᴇᴎᴊɨ Яᴧɢᴇ- (baels.rage): So in two years have you felt like Rhythm Factory has done what you set out to do with it?

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): Absolutely, my goal is to give people a casual, friendly enviroment to hang out in and Staff a chance to express themselves creatively without a lot of cumbersome rules

-Bᴇᴎᴊɨ Яᴧɢᴇ- (baels.rage): Cumbersome rules. I’m going to take it that you have been to other clubs or even worked other clubs that had lots of those? I know i have to be honest.

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): Yes, I have and since SL is primarily here to allow us to relax, it doesn’t seem appropriate to add stress to people who just want to express themselves through music and to entertain others. There aren’t a lot of rules that need applied. Simple things like do what you say are sufficient

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): Of course the standard SL TOS rules must be followed but that’s not up to me

-Bᴇᴎᴊɨ Яᴧɢᴇ- (baels.rage): I can agree with that. Tell me a bit about the kind of people you get to work at the club. You look for a specific type? What makes them fit in with what you want Rhythm Factory to be?

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): Ahh the people at TRF. That’s the most amazing part. Our staff here are are an ecclectic mix. There are DJ’s specializing in Live Mix, edm, rock, just every genre imaginable. There are no two people that if I were to classify people in groups (which I don’t ever) that would fit in the same category. That is what makes us so much different from the rest.

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): My GM has been with me since I opened the first edition of TRF. To be perfectly honest without all these amazing people here @ TRF I couldn’t do it. We have an amazing designer that helps with most of the builds and landscaping. I can’t begin to describe how grateful I am for all of them

-Bᴇᴎᴊɨ Яᴧɢᴇ- (baels.rage): How is the turn over rate there? i know working the club scene that people come and go like changing underwear (and most people dont wear them on SL) but what keeps them there?

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): The thing that keeps people here is LOVE

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): People here get treated with respect and fairness. I think that is what keeps people here initially. Then they realize that this is home and family. No reason to ever leave 🙂

-Bᴇᴎᴊɨ Яᴧɢᴇ- (baels.rage) nods

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): Another reason is I don’t allow any type of Drama

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): none whatsoever, it’s just not allowed, and it’s removed as soon as it’s detected with a swiftness

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): We also don’t do cliques. Everyone is made to feel comfortable and accepted here regardless of your form, your clothing, whether you are mesh or not etc…. We are all the same under the character.

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): We also don’t do cliques. Everyone is made to feel comfortable and accepted here regardless of your form, your clothing, whether you are mesh or not etc…. We are all the same under the character.

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): We have some great shops in our little mall, We have Faschi & Fun featuring very affordable mocap dances @ 25L each, gestures and casual clothing. We also have an eclectic shop called Z.O.E. with a little bit of everything awesome. Purrcocious is a ladies fashion store, Addicted is another. It’s a little mall but well worth visiting.

-Bᴇᴎᴊɨ Яᴧɢᴇ- (baels.rage): Whats the schedule that TRF is open?

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): we are open from 10 am – 10 pm

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): Although we currently don’t have any scheduled sets in our 10 am slots

-Bᴇᴎᴊɨ Яᴧɢᴇ- (baels.rage): awesome. i find that clubs that run 24hrs a day have the hardest times. they may have great traffic but behind the scenes its a real struggle.

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): We are working on getting those filled asap

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): I can’t handle that kind of stress and I’m not competing for fame. I am here for the people that want a place to have fun and make friends and feel welcome as simple as that.

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): Although I do love when we have a full house, it’s really because it’s fun moreso than the business part of it

-Bᴇᴎᴊɨ Яᴧɢᴇ- (baels.rage): I agree.. but then again even those places with 24 hr DJs dont always have that full house.

-Bᴇᴎᴊɨ Яᴧɢᴇ- (baels.rage): Does TRF run on donations or is it funded by you and the land?

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): A combination of all of it

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): Mostly by me

-Bᴇᴎᴊɨ Яᴧɢᴇ- (baels.rage): Sweet.

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): I offer discounted shops to my staff so I don’t make much on those.

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): well I don’t make anything, it just goes to the operaton of the sim and tier

-Bᴇᴎᴊɨ Яᴧɢᴇ- (baels.rage): Thats something as a staff member if you have your fingers into everything to take advantage of.

-Bᴇᴎᴊɨ Яᴧɢᴇ- (baels.rage): anyone you want to give a shout out to before i stop taking up your time?

ღDᴜsᴛɪღ (xojustineox): Just my awesome Staff. I appreciate each and every one of them. Love them wholeheartedly

Make sure to stop by and check it out. Well worth a few hours in SL to give this place a well deserved chance!

What a pleasant visit from Benji. Thanks to Sera for recommending our club for the review. I hope everyone takes a moment to stop by and visit our little spot on the grid. We are always looking to make new friends. Thanks again Benji for the conversation and the pleasant review
